Police are investigating after two people were shot, one fatally, in Greensboro Tuesday night, according to Greensboro police. The shooting was reported just after 10 p.m. near the intersection of Beckford Drive and Fairfax Road.
Winston-Salem police are continuing to investigate a 27-year-old's death, it's now being considered a homicide. Authorities found Maurice Layton McCullin dead inside his apartment just before 9 p.m. on January 15. Police had been searching for McCullin in the days before his body was found.
A Taylorsville man is accused of having a weapon of mass destruction. According to the Alexander County Sheriff's Office, 20-year-old Blake Allen Isenhour was arrested on Jan. 9 and charged with felony possessing a weapon of mass destruction.
One person died after a tractor-trailer overturned on I-85 Tuesday morning and the cab fell into a ravine.
Police are investigating after a pregnant woman and man were shot inside of a Durham home. According to officers, the incident happened just before 12:30 Tuesday morning in the 1100 block of Hoover Road.

Asheville police said two men were arrested and drugs and weapons were seized at the end of a two-month investigation into crack cocaine sales. The Asheville Police Department said its Drug Suppression and Housing Units conducted a search warrant on January 12 at an apartment on Camby Street
The town manager of Huntersville was charged with simple assault. Gerald Downs Vincent, 51, was arrested by the Huntersville Police Department and booked in the Mecklenburg County Jail just before 7 p.m. Sunday evening. He was charged with misdemeanor simple assault.
One person was killed in a tractor-trailer crash on Highway 200 in Union County Monday morning, closing the roadway. According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the wreck shut down all of the lanes on Lancaster Avenue near Doster Road in Monroe. NCDOT officials said the wreck happened around 6:48 a.m.
Asheville police said they are investigating a stabbing that killed one person. Police said they were called to a reported stabbing around 10:30 a.m. near the Pisgah View Apartments, and that the victim was taken to Mission Hospital.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are asking for the public's help locating a missing Charlotte man who suffers from dementia. Grady L. Moore was last seen leaving Presbyterian/Novant Hospital in the 200 block of Hawthorne Lane Saturday around 10 p.m., officials say.
Winston-Salem police are investigating a crash that happened on the Reidsville Road exit of U.S.-421 South. Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 3:43 Saturday afternoon. They confirmed that there were injuries, but they don't know the extent of them. At this time the Reidsville Road exit is closed and officials don't know when it will open back up.
The Winston-Salem Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for an 18-year-old young woman who suffers from cognitive disorders. Police said Chelsea Marie Lang was last seen on January 20, 2018 at 12 p.m. when she walked away from 259 Stewart Road, Winston-Salem, NC.

Two people have died and two others are injured after a multi-vehicle crash on I-40 in Raleigh. Police said the incident happened around 11:30 Thursday night on I-40 West near Wade Avenue. Four people traveling eastbound in the westbound lane of I-40 were struck by a pick-up truck head-on.
Supreme Court blocks re-drawing of congressional district maps in North Carolina
A Cary police officer was assaulted and injured after responding to a trespassing call near a gas station Wednesday night, according to department officials. The call came in around 11:30 p.m. in the 3500 block of Kildaire Farm Road. During the investigation of the trespassing call, the suspect tried to escape from the officer and during the escape, assaulted the officer, according to police.

A North Carolina man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in South Carolina has been arrested. The Horry County Police Department posted to its Facebook page that 20-year-old Quotase Jenrette of Clarendon was wanted in the shooting death of 27-year-old Kendal Ray of Loris
An overturned tractor-trailer caught fire after jack-knifing in a wreck on US Highway 52 south near I-74 Wednesday morning. One man helped the driver escape without injury. Doyle Watson was traveling on 52 when he saw the fire and helped the driver out of the trailer. Watson said he helped the driver get out through a hole in the windshield.
A Mooresville man has been arrested on more than 70 sex assault charges, police said. Larry Earl Davis, 38, has been charged on 19 counts of statutory sexual offense with a child, four counts of statutory rape of a child, and 49 counts of indecent liberties with a child
A homicide investigation is underway after a person was killed at a restaurant in Hickory Tuesday morning. According to Hickory police, one person was killed at the IHOP located on US Highway 70 SE.
A man in his early 20's is dead after he was shot Monday night during a fight with several others on Sally McNair Road outside of Laurinburg, according to Captain Earl Haywood with the Scotland County Sheriff's Office. Haywood said one man pulled out a gun during the altercation and shot the victim.
Charlotte Mecklenburg Police were investigating a homicide Monday evening in east Charlotte. The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office confirmed the victim was a deputy. It happened around 4:00 p.m. in the 13300 block of Ashley Meadow Drive.
A 10-year-old boy was seriously injured in an accidental shooting in north Charlotte Sunday afternoon. According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the incident happened in the 2400 block of Cairns Mill Court. The gun shot wound was to the boy's abdomen.
